I would love to hear from the people that have been successful and what life is like in maintenance? What is life like at your goal weight? Do you still struggle with food? Have you kept the weight off? What tips do you have for us?

Good questions. I lost 45lbs about 6 years ago. My life then was filled with lots of ‘comfort food’ like pasta and pizza. I couldn’t keep up with my active family.  My life today is very different because I wanted it to be different. I eat a low carb diet and have replaced emotional eating with regular exercise. Even my ‘comfort food’ is different (crack slaw). I don’t say this to impress you/anyone. It’s to let you know that you CAN lose weight and keep it off. It takes practice and maybe some professional help. You are worth it!

I think a massive aspect to weight is the mental side. Why were you over weight? What habits/ triggers/ coping mechanisms got you to where you were? Did you heal yourself from them? Do you know how many calories you need to be eating to maintain your ideal weight? I havent reached my goal but I am trying to educate myself on how to not balloon back out.

Yes. I completed IP in 2014. Did extremely well. Never had to do a “reboot” people talk about and then 2018 happened. I was in a car accident and placed on so many meds and gained 30-35 pounds. Restarted and lost but was slow going. I am about 15 from “original goal” but not sure if that is where I really want to be. May only want to be 8-10. I didn’t overthink it. I just lived life. I ate kinda bad for a day and followed that with did a day of 2 of P1 IF I felt the need but that was few and far between.

I lost 65 pounds in 7 months back in 2016. I gained 19 of it back within 6 months even through I was still eating low carb. 6 months ago in 2019 I added 11 pounds to the 19 in 6 months. I’m back in phase 1 to lose the 30 I gained back. It did take almost 3 years to gain back almost half of it. It will always be hard, but we’re worth it. I’m down 15 pounds in 6 weeks. Halfway to my goal of 120.

Great question. Million maybe billion dollar question. I've coached 10 years. Seems loving kindness, mindfulness and lots of compassion help. I podcast a bit about this over Mibomusings www. mibomusings. com and the solid maintainers at our clinic came in for a year of check ins, used a food journal and some exercise.

IP besides being a great weight loss progam, ive become aware how much better i feel and body functions continuing with what ive learned how to eat on IP. lean protein, veggies, fruits, grains, dairy being portion and quality. . more so on their IP plan designed for athletes and diabetics. so close to daily lifestyle.
