Need advice: My birthday is in 5 weeks exactly. I have been on IP since 1/1/2020 with 28 pounds to go until goal. I know I don't want to give up but I also want to enjoy my birthday with food. All I can think of lately is all the 'crap' I will eat on my birthday. I know this is a lifestyle change so I shouldn't give in to the mindset of eating whatever I want. That will just throw me down a rabbit hole that will be hard to climb out. But I am really struggling with daydreaming and planning all the food I will eat in 5 weeks. What have you done for your birthday with this program? What should I do?

I warmed up a brownie and had burger with lettuce buns! Try to find healthy phase 1 conversation of your fave food!

I know exactly how you feel! My 50th is coming up in a couple weeks. Was hoping I would be out of phase 1, but I will definitely not. It makes me sad to think I can’t have a slice of cheesecake & a glass of wine on my 50th. Trying to change my mindset.

There's a cheesecake recipe in Janeva's!

My birthday was a month ago today. I didnt go off of protocol. Been on it since july 2019 and have lost 75lbs. I have 15 more to go, I just told myself that there is no justification to cheat and get lazy on myself. That was the gift I gave myself, . I own it to me to know I can do better and not justify me eating what I shouldn't. I don't want to create a bad habit when it's been going so well.

For birthdays and special occasions my husband and I would do steak and lobster, and drink our bcaa’s from wine glasses, & have the raspberry temptation bar for dessert. You can still “indulge” while staying on protocol.

I stuck to IP . my daughter baked a keto chocolate cake and portioned it out correctly and that was my daily snack. I just really enjoyed time with family. after all that is what counts not food I did bake a “normal” cake for my family and made them take it with them.

Stick to protocol, chances are if you 'celebrate' with junk food, you'll feel like junk for a week and not be happy with it. Celebrate your success with a lovely IP cake instead! :)

I once heard Cher talk about dieting and she said she would tell herself it’s not that you can’t have anything you might want- just not right now. Do what you can to celebrate and keep your goals front and center. You got this

My Birthday was last weekend. I chose to make the choices I did. However. I felt sick after eating sweets. I did not like that. It tasted good but the icky feeling was not worth it. I ate non sweets too and didn't feel great. Some of my choices I was happy I made and others were a waste of calories and non protocol stuff. Soooo, with all that being said. it is your choice just make sure you are aware of the consequences and if that is worth it to you. I did what I did and I am moving forward. Happy Birthday!

I say take a mug cake and make it and have your candle on it . Also eat 4 or 5 packets that day . But don’t eat trash food . Believe me it’s not with it !

Stick to protocol. Have your favorite protocol meal and can make mug cake or have your favorite bar on birthday. Can always celebrate birthday when you are phased off.

My birthday is next week. I've lost 72 pds and 20 pds left. I will be eating everything protocol except 1 item. It's a choice. I do not get derailed easily, if I did I wouldnt be having that 1 item. That is something you need to consider. If it is too hard to go back 100%, I would not stray.

My birthday is Monday. I was on IP 2 years ago and had 3 months in and then I went on a work trip. and I couldn't get back on track to save myself. I started again Wednesday and on my bday I will NOT be indulging. Indulging got me where I am. :(

Going BACK to eating all the food you aren't eating now is a mindset for going BACK to old habits which is a direct route to going BACK to your old weight.

It sounds like you know the answer. If you want results in the long run, you already know what you should do. Luckily, you have some weeks to decide which birthday gift you will give to yourself. Nobody can do that on your behalf. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy it. Regardless if you will enjoy it for a moment or for the rest of your life span. Cheers!

Don't go off, you will be sorry, take it from me. I did it for 12 months without 1 cheat, lost 98 lbs. Had another 40 to go, i went off without phasing off because it was only going to be a day off, will 4 years later still trying to get back on, DON'T DO IT!

I felt the same way on my birthday. But instead, I tried new recipes and figured out the best on-protocol foods and recipes leading up to my birthday and I ate those!

You did that LAST year. Give yourself a different gift THIS year. Hold the line.

Eat your vegetables and get your water in. You might be surprised how even when you indulge for just one meal, you will be less tempted!

My birthday was yesterday. I allowed myself to eat 1 cupcake. beef stroganoff and a glass of wine. Sounds great eh! Not. today I have a food hangover. Nauseous today. bloated and feel like crap. Soooo not worth it. If I had stopped at 1 cupcake I think I might not feel this way. Bave a protocol supper and add one extra ingredient u normally would not for your birthday. You dont want to totally blow it and feel like this.

I won’t tell you what to do because we are ALL recovering food addicts. We wouldn’t be on IP if we weren’t. My mom, dad, 2 grown kids, and hubby had a salad party. For me it was perfect. My birthday was in June and I turned 54 this year. We all talked about next year on my birthday we should go to the beach and take my new body for a “test” drive. My husband is also on IP. So his birthday is in January. He wanted to go out for his bday. So I found a Korean BBQ restaurant and I previewed the menu before we went there. Then that night I didn’t even open the menu I ordered from my sticky note. It was perfect for Jon who was down 85 lb at the time and didn’t want to lose traction on his weight loss.
