So I’ve wasted quite a bit of cash, cheating this time around. I did this so easy the first time around -I did it for 4 months, lost 32lbs and was at my ideal weight-I didn’t cheat but I also didn’t have kids snacks around or 1/2 the stress I do now! Still, why cant I commit 100%?! It’s driving me crazy! Help! Tips or tricks/ advice to help my change my mindset!?

My granddaughter lives with me we have piles of snacks.  I listen to dr berg he’s on you tube he explains why carbohydrates make you tired what sugar does etc. then when I look at that processed food I don’t want it. Dr berg has a voice like velvet  He has loads of videos

I do intermittent fasting with IP my eating window in 9-4. I get all my food in during that window and once 4:00 hits I know I CANT eat anything else no matter how badly I want it. It really helps me stay on track mentally plus I actually feel so much more full and have SO MUCH MORE energy than the first time I did ideal without IF

@primero7878 , 3:00 is my protein and veggies meal and then I eat my last IP bar (usually vanilla Krispy square just before 4)

Hm. IF works with Ideal Protein? I thought it was really important that you time meals every 4-5 hours, with first meal being within 30 minutes of waking?

@acrid , I never heard that. I’ve discussed this with my coach and she is ok with me doing IF as long as I’m getting all of my veggies, proteins, vitamins, water and packets in. I guess I’d say discuss with your coach before starting ? ‍♀️

@lame87127 my husband has been doing IP for a little over a year and just recently started the intermittent fasting. He likes it a lot. He does allow himself a coffee after dinner. He goes from 10-5. He is down about 90 pounds.

Also. we’ve adopted the mindset that this is our new normal. It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet. Do you have Jaeneva’s cookbook? If not, I highly recommend! I could not do this without it!

@bennington Thank you. My coach agrees.

I wrote down why I have to do this now, what it will cost me in terms of my health, relationships, etc. in one year from now, in 5 years from now if I don't. Then I wrote down what benefit I get from not following it: not having the pre-plan, etc. Then write how I want to feel, what I want to do when I lose the weight - helps me when the going gets tough.

I keep thinking that if I cheat, I set myself back by days. It helps to have weekly meetings with my coach and it is the scale that holds me accountable. You can do it! It is a lifestyle change but think of how much healthier we are for it!

THE LITERAL "COST" OF CHEATING = $72 Think of it this way and you may not think the cheat was "worth it" (literally not worth it! ) . It takes 3-4 days to get back into ketosis. $4 per packet x 3 per day = $12 packets per day $12 x 4 days = $48 in packets you have to buy JUST to get back to where you were before the cheat. Add to that the cost of your meat and veggies for four days, say $6 per day x 4 days = $24. Your piece of cake, glass of wine, garlic bread, etc. set you back at least $72!

@fiord35650 Bryce Wagner This is what I do as well. It’s already costing so much, I don’t want to delay my weight loss by having to get back into ketosis.
