I’ve lost almost 60 pounds since May and have been 10 pounds away from goal for a few months with much difficulty getting it off and finding myself going on and off the rails. I’m going on holidays this week for 10 days to Disneyland for the first time with my son and I know I’m going to have cheat treats but I’m terrified at the same time of going way off the rails ! Should I just go off plan for that duration and treat myself but also be cautious and mindful of how many treats I have and then go full force once I get back ? Go into phase one again until I get to my long awaited goal or try to stick to plan on holidays ? I just don’t want to gain too much but I do want to have some treats ‍♀️ yikes what to do

You are going to get lots of conflicting answers on this post. Only you can make this decision. We all have a skewed relationship with food, or we wouldn’t be on IP to begin with. Where are your priorities? Only you can answer that. Whatever you decide, Congratulations on your weight loss so far and enjoy your trip!

I think you should enjoy your vacation without stressing, and put into practice what you’ve learned over the past 9 months. Skip the French fries to have a dessert, or vice versa. This is real life. Make the best decisions in any given situation. It’s all about choices.

I agree with @waterrepellent. Don't go totally rogue. Take the lessons you have learned and try to apply them. Ask yourself is this something a healthy person will eat. If you're staring down a large pizza, probably not. If you're looking at two slices of pizza with a salad, then yes that is something a healthy person will eat. Prioritize the things you need to try. You've got this. Keep your head in the game.

Agree with first comment, only you can decide what’s more important to you! My advice is do the best you can do, being thin taste SO much better!

My coach always tells clients to phase off if you know you are going to cheat, I guess it helps reduce the large amount of weight gain and she always says to just be mindful of your choices, I don’t always take the advice lol but hey she says it lol

I was there last November & there are many places to eat & still enjoy & be healthy. I looked at the park info & map ahead of time so I didn’t get caught with only bad choices. (Many hotels offer free breakfast & it was easy to start out with a healthy breakfast) You can stay on the plan if you’d like. Enjoy yourself! Fitting into the airplane seat & on the rides easier is awesome!

Stay on plan. Enjoy the vacation. Food is not the vacation. Be present for your family, enjoy the park attractions and I bet you can come back from vacation at your goal weight.

I went to Disneyworld for two weeks and was able to stay on plan and it felt so good! I did take a fourth packet (even had a second restricted some days) because of all of the walking and honestly because I wanted to have one to be my treat when everyone else was eating something. It can be a little tricky when food choices are slim, but I always stayed close as I could. Felt amazing! If you want to you can do it, you just have to decide

You seem to be ambivalent about staying on plan. That tells me that you would really like to enjoy your vacation. I would go off plan, enjoy yourself, but you have to commit to restarting at 100% when you get back. This way you won't be feeling guilty while you are away and not totally enjoying the time with your son! Best of luck.

I've just been traveling for a week and made the best of it. I ate at restaurants twice a day, explaining to the server I'm on a restricted diet then telling them what I could have from their menu choices. The chefs were fantastic and so was the food! I took many IP products with me & ate a 4th one sometimes to make up for less veggies or because I really wanted a treat. I was shocked to find I had lost half a pound & it feels so good! I agree with comments above about the trip not focusing on food but instead I truly enjoyed walking with my husband and spending time together. I didn't get stressed about the meals, just tried to ensure I wasn't hungry. I really enjoyed it! By the way, Greek salads without feta & dressing were very filling & so is steak. I brought my own IP Italian dressing with me everywhere. I also researched healthy restaurants before I went. I remember the restaurants at Disney had superb chefs when I was there many years ago. I find servers & restaurants very eager to help me stick with my healthy eating plan when I request special orders. I was also prepared to enjoy an indulgence if I found something I really wanted to have, but there wasn't anything on this trip that qualified. It really is up to you. Hope this helps and I hope you have a wonderful time!

Phase off correctly - unless you go totally overboard the 7-1 miles a day you’ll be walking will work it all off !
