Mug cake as a cookie! I’d not have m made it a full year without it
by (920 points)
@duntson what did you add to your packet to make your cookie? I have been trying this lately
by (6.2k points)
@apostles it’s 2 TBSP egg white 1 tsp canola oil 1 TBSP WF maple syrup and 1 TBSP vanilla premade drink. I also add shredded zucchini (you have to squeeze all the water out before hand) and cinnamon. Make 3-4 cookies. Bake 9-10 min at 350

@duntson this is a great idea! Thank you so much!

I think the oatmeal’s are both pretty good. The mug cake is fine but I think it taste just like the chocolate chip pancake… And if you’re looking for a chocolatey taste it doesn’t have much chocolate

I like the caramel mug cake. Sometimes I just slightly nuke it so it’s like cookie dough.

Both are great if you use them to make recipe from Jeneva cookbook. As directed, they're both pretty awful.

I hate the oatmeal although it’s tolerable to me in recipes. The mug cake I really like alone, as protein balls and in making muffins etc

Love both. I sometimes prefer to under cook mug cake, for a cookie dough consistency, but also like it as is (but never over cook since that’s when these things go super dry) and nice when I’m a plate topped with strawberry rhubarb compote or caramel “apples”

I personally like the maple oatmeal, I add a bit of the IP maple syrup to it and it’s great. I love the caramel mug cake too.

Two of my Staples. I like to make a big batch of the caramel fried "apples" with cayote squash (recipe on of 39 in Janeva's cookbook) on Sunday's and then add a cup of those to my apple oatmeal each morning. Gets 2 cups of your veggies out of the way first thing in the morning and makes a huge bowl of oatmeal to get the day started off right.  Mug cake is great as is or make into cookie dough type balls.

Protein ball recipe somewhere for the both I think. I LOVE the carnal mug cake. I make with the water and put into the fridge or freezer and eat like raw cookie dough. I NEVER heat it up.

I love the caramel mug cake cold. I add about 2 tbsp water and chill it for a bit. It’s like chocolate chip cookie dough. :) The Apple oatmeal has a very fake apple taste me. Like apple candy.

I tried the oatmeal by itself and didn’t care for it. But I’m going to try the protein balls with it! Mug cake is one of my favs! I’ll eat it as is hot, or I will chill and eat as “cookie dough”. But I also like to make it into pancakes!

Apple Oatmeal is great, and is excellent for muffin recipes from Janeva's cook book. Caramel Mug cake is great when cooked per the packet. Good with a mug of coffee. Try pouring your one ounce/day of half & half on it if you aren't using it in your coffee. Some like Caramel Mug Cake just mixed up and doughy, not microwaved. You can also make dough balls in the freezer.

I use the apple oatmeal as apple pancakes that are yummy. Almost every morning I make the caramel mug cake into two muffin tops from one of JNevas recipes. Also use them in the brownie recipe in her cookbook.

I really like the apple oatmeal. I'm not certain if it would have the same appeal in warmer months, but fall/winter I enjoy it!

I love the oatmeal, but it's not super filling so I find ways to beef it up. With the maple brown sugar one I add a cup of cauliflower rice, cinnamon and a dash of vanilla flavoring. The apple cinnamon I add the Carmel fried apples made from chayote squash. That one blew my mind! It was so delicious and very filling!

The real bottom line is that these things really need to be off your plate all together so please don't fret about a mug cake. there are sweet treats on the restricted list that need to replace this stuff.
by (430 points)
@wilser9526 I’m not sure what you mean?
by (470 points)
Many that go on IP get way too involved in the making of the food or turning something into something else. Yes, this is all a process but focus on what are the makings of a good reasonable diet and not trying to make Mac & Cheese healthy. I was a "sinner" and ate unlimited carbs until I developed diabetes. I have been able to reduce my carb intake to 30 gr. /day but I just stay away from trying to make cardboard taste like a favorite chocolate cake. I kept my eating on IP pretty boring but the weight came off in 4 months which gave me time to figure out what I needed to eat after the program. Just don't waste too much time trying to figure out this diet.
