I'm within 5 lbs of my goal weight now. Along the way, definitely slower than when I started. Some weeks I've only lost a half pound and next week, it would be 1. 5 or 2. I alternate my dinner at lunchtime one day and then later the next. I also dropped protein to 5 oz. I limit restricted items to once a week or zero. I find mixing things up helps. Also, walking is a huge help - I see really good results when I add that in.
