I'm feeling quite discouraged that I can't find the motivation to restart for the second time. My coach has been so patient with me, and I'm really not looking forward to seeing him tomorrow because I feel so ashamed that I haven't lost any weight/haven't been trying hard enough like I said I would. First time I tried IP was in Feb of 2019 - I lost 45lbs, started a new job around August and that's when it started to go downhill from there. Gained ALL of my weight back and a few pounds more in such a short amount of time. I'm definitely an emotional eater and I feel like I'm at my lowest point right now. I tell my coach all of the emotional crap that I'm dealing with - he tries to push me by giving me a pep talk and a bit of inspiration and even suggested meditation, but it's just not happening right now. What are some tools that have helped you out of your slump and how did you stuck with it? Open to suggestions. Thank you for reading :)

Well you can kick yourself all you want but thats really not going to resolve much. *maybe* there is a more successful way you can achieve your goals that will work for your personal triggers.

I’ve done IP on and off since 2015 and I’ll be honest with you. For me, regardless how many times I know I’m ready or I want to lose weight if my mind is not in it I fail. I find that moment when I’m truly ready willing and able and there’s no stopping me. I hope you can find that or whatever you need to get back on track. I know it’s hard but you can do it!

You have to have a mind set I think. And it will hit you. In July our kids bought us matching jackets with our company logo on them. They were so excited about giving them to us and then I couldn't get mine on. It just made me so sick and I felt so bad. Right then I vowed to get into this jacket. I went back on IP 3 days later and now the jacket fits. That was my wake up call and you will get one too.

Second time around is a lot like a second marriage. You know what to expect and yet you’re wiser. Get out of your head, get your goals written and get going. You’ll thank yourself!

@illness sh-ts gonna happen our whole lives. So we can deal with the sh-t healthy and thinner or unhealthy and heavy. Same sh-t.

@neckwear pretty much . I meant more that we face challenges constantly that make it harder stick to IP rules long term .

Lots of encouraging thought here. My comments will be more concrete. I am where you are, starting again and struggling. I have two problems: being perfect and then doing that for more than four days in a row. On the night before I begin, I write down what I will eat and when and then prepare it. So, 8:00 shake, noon salad and dorados, 4:00 pickles or celery, 7:00 steak on lettuce, 8:00 IP bar. Or something like that. I also write down when I will finish my water. Then I use that as a checklist. The next morning the scale will show your progress which will encourage you. Then do it again. On DAY 4, be extremely mindful. This is the day if you can break through and be “perfect” you are on your way. Perhaps this is too specific for some people but it’s very short term and works for me. Today is my day 4 (again) so I’m writing this as part of my accountability.

@locker write it down and when you weaken look at it and say it’s only another hour and then I can eat again. It works

We are all here to support you in any way that we can. Perhaps an IP partner to check in daily may do the trick. We can ALL do it and it’s normal to have set backs. we are human, not robots!

The only thing I can tell you is you're not alone! I am having such a hard time starting again, too! Just typing this post is bringing me to tears! Let's just do it! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, ughhh!

I’ve been in the same boat 35 times. Just keep going and start until it sticks. The alternative is miserable. And if this were easy, we wouldn’t all be on this page.
