Why am I gaining? And yes I am focusing on the weight number as opposed to the other things but I’m 3 weeks in now. please help because I hate seeing an increase when I am working so hard.

If you lost fat you probably gained muscle!

You could just be having an “off” week. I usually had that around my cycle. Just keep following the program, you’ll have good weeks and bad weeks but it all evens out to be good losses every month!

I had a week at about 3 weeks in that my scale weight went up too. Luckily my coach measures more that just my weight. My fat percentage went down, my measurements went down, my water weight and lean mass went up. I'm ok if the scale goes up as long as my fat and measurements go down. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry that you had that experience! Hang on there. Keep moving forward with the plan. Your body will change in the direction you want. Sometimes it gets confused when you're on a weight loss journey. :) Keep at it. It will start to align with your new good habits.

Cycle, hormones, bowel movement, water retention. Could be any number of things, none of which you can control. Don't sweat it. Stick to protocol and next week you'll probably have a nice loss. That's usually what would happen to me. How much weight have you lost up until now?

@lithosphere8691, that averages out to just under 2 and a half a week. That's awesome!

On weeks like that I check inches & sometimes it could be just that time of the month (if ya know what I mean). Women can retain water & YES it’s totally frustrating when you work so hard to eat the sheet & it’s a +. Next week you’ll do amazing

I definitely understand why you are frustrated. there is nothing worse than following the plan, feeling deprived, looking forward to seeing how much you lost and the seeing a GAIN. Been there done that. I am sure your next weigh in will be awesome! That usually happens to me after a small loss week. Usually they will say three things can cause a gain- menstruation, constipation or deviation. Sometimes a “deviation” can be completely unintentional. especially in the first few weeks of being on the plan. Your coach should have reviewed your journal to make sure everything was up to snuff. For me, in the beginning i was using a soy sauce that had added sugars and didn’t realize it. that kicked me out of ketosis. Just hang in there, and I’m sure next week will be amazeballs
