@donahue1969 on Phase 1 we are not allowed and should not consume any alcohol.

I loose on average 2 lbs a week drinking most weekends, but I’m a vodka diet tonic person

@donahue1969 Drinking on IP is potentially highly dangerous and IP corporate requires coaches to have clients sign that they will not drink. A coach allowing drinking is playing with fire and asking for a very serious outcome for some clients including blinding headaches, blackouts and hospitalization. Consider yourself lucky that it wasn’t you, but very dangerous for the clients who will have this kind of reaction.

Alcohol is not permitted while on Phase 1 and must be avoided while you’re in ketosis. During ketosis, your liver is busy converting the fatty acids being released from your fat cells into ketones that can be burned by your body for energy. It’s also busy converting protein (and sometimes fats) into glucose for those organs that have to have glucose to operate. As well as busy doing all of the other functions that it is responsible for. Alcohol is a toxic substance. Your liver immediately focuses on removing it from your body and puts other things on hold – such as creating the glucose your brain and other organs need. Hypoglycemia can result and if it happens while you’re driving, it could be especially dangerous.

I’ve been warned by my coach that my body is different and I cannot process alcohol the way I did before I started. But she said as long as I am responsible and don’t binge I’m fine. Everything is about personal responsibility

@footrope i never had to sign anything like that. My coach doesn't encourage tho.

@lett3 IP corporate requires it but unfortunately not all clinics follow all requirements.

@footrope It was part of the contract people agreed to, by signing, not to drink alcohol. I had a specific blip I was to read to a new client during orientation.

@donahue1969 your coach is very wrong. It’s extremely dangerous and I learned that the hard way. Not worth it.

@footrope not you.

And they had to sign it that I went over it with them. That came from corporate

All the coaches I know will boot you off the program if you consume alcohol due to the dangers. ‍♀️

Save it for maintenance, I thought I would be safe having a couple vodka sodas, nope, I ended up blacking out, losing my vision briefly, my temperature went threw the roof and my family almost called an ambulance. Your clinic should have you sign a waiver saying absolutely no alcohol, for good reason, I learned the hard way. Learn from my mistake & wait.
