What is something I can use as rice? I really wanna make cucumber sushi, but I have no idea what to use for the rice, and are nori sheets allowed? (Unsalted) and are the imitation crab sticks allowed? I think it’s pollock maybe? Thanks!

i don’t have a “recipe”. I wing it. but I’ll usually add cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, diced jalapeños (fresh ones that I roast but jar is fine), multi colored peppers diced and some tomatoes (either diced fresh or from a can- you can use rotel). It’s so good!

make sure you use low sodium kikkomans soy sauce! Nothing else. They all have way too much salt, or added ingredients/sugar.

I agree. when I first started IP I screwed up and used a soy sauce with added sugar. I learned to check the ingredients listing on every label- not just the nutrition info. Beginner mistake. Another great option for soy sauce is braggs aminos. It has way more flavor than regular soy sauce, less salt and you don’t need that much of it.

I sautéed mushrooms, bell pepper green onion and garlic. I bought a bag of the frozen cauliflower rice and cooked that in the microwave as directed. Then to the sautéed veggies I added some tomato, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper, cooked for a minute or 2, than added the cauliflower rice.

Imitation crab is full of sugar, you’d be best with real crab or just omit it all together

Imitation crab is also loaded with starches such as potato, wheat, corn, tapioca. Only 35-50% of the product is actually fish!

Check out plant based rice at Miracle noodle. Not bad.
