I’ve lost 23 pounds since I started January 4th. This is the first week I didn’t move the scale  my clinic said I am retaining a lot of water. This has been said the past three weeks to me. I drink between 42-68 ounces of water per day. Plus tea and/or coffee (both black). How much more do I need to drink to not “retain” water? Or am I drinking too much?

You are supposed to be drinking 1/2 of your body weight in water.

You need more water. You need at least 64 ounces plus the same amount of water for the coffee and tea that you are drinking. You are doing great though! Congratulations!

The scale doesn’t show inches lost. Are you measuring as well as scale on your visits? Sometimes we feel baggy clothes and then the scale doesn’t move. I think we all have gone through this. See your goal. Be positive in the little steps and accomplishments. Hit a bump in our path doesn’t make it there permanent. You are beautiful and keep going. Don’t give up.

@clime4 yes this is true. I get measurements every few weeks not weekly.

@embree Ask them to take measurements weekly. It helps me to know weekly.

Get walking 20-30min/day. That will get the water moving.

@beers9790 I go to the gym at 6 am every day. I’m good with that part.

The plateau will break. Just stick with that. For me, I have to do one day and eating off protocol, high fat and high proteins such as, cheese, avocados, and high fat meat. And then go back protocol doing intermittent fasting the next day. Works every time.

@dunnock - So the day after you eat high fat/high protein, what are the hours you eat?
by (3.1k points)
@adsorbent98 I stop eating my last high fat meal at 4 or 5 that afternoon and fast till about 10:30-11:00 the next day. Thankspically, one or two days after, I see a drop. I only do this about every 4-6 weeks

@dunnock - That is so interesting. It’s also nice to have a different kind of day sometimes.

I’ve been stuck for a few weeks and then I drop 7 lbs like that. Try doing a week of unrestricted packages only, and before you eat in the morning have a concentrated glass of water with fresh lemon. Keep at it, you are guaranteed still loosing inches
