Isn’t this supposed to be a low carb diet?

IP Carbs are NET carbs - carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols. Most trackers do not subtract. Daily NET carbs run 25-45 depending on packet and veggie choices.

Low carb, low fat, and sugar

@pegu99 my carbs are high . unless that’s the norm for this
by (11.5k points)
@posada68362 perhaps depends on your packets you eating .
by (2.1k points)
@posada68362 its lower compared to "regular food" carbs when reading labels. Our intake of carbs is significantly lower. Example: 1 IP potato puree mix that can be made into a bread has 7 grams carb, 1 slice of packaged bread is 25g. It is also good carbs vs. bad carbs.

@posada68362 the balance looks great. Your protein should always come out to be more at the end of the day. You are doing great!

@pegu99 ok thank you! I feel better lol

Some days the carbs will be higher because of packet choice

Looks like you had 2 restricted
by (2.3k points)
@pennypennyaliner I had no restricted foods
by (30.7k points)
@pennypennyaliner oatmeal or soy puffs are not restricted
by (12.1k points)
@posada68362 it always was anything over 8 carbs was.
by (34k points)
@pennypennyaliner IP has been developing more and more products higher in carbs, calories and fats and calling them unrestricted. This is the newest UNrestricted packet at over 50% fat
by (1.8k points)
@footrope how is it 50% fat not sure how to calculate that
by (34k points)
@disfavor412 Fat grams x 9 = 99 of the 180 calories are coming from fat. Historically I. p's low fat plan has been around 30-35% calories from fat and in the last year or so they keep bumping that up more and mire.

This is net carbs
by (34k points)
@posada68362 Net Carbs will range up to 45 on this plan. Under 50 sustains ketosis.

@footrope thank you

@posada68362 FYI Lettuce doesn't count towards your veggies cups. Only select and occasional.
by (11.6k points)
These are NOT net carbs in your picture. Oatmeal and soy puffs are only 6-7g net carbs when you subtract the fibre and sugar alcohols. Besides, a low carb diet will be around 40-50g net carbs. A VERY low carb diet will be under 20g net, and a carnivore diet would be zero. For ideal protein, you can expect around 20g net carbs from the packets AND around 20g net carbs from you veggies. Hence you will see occasional veggies which are limited, and you'll only get one restricted ip item max per day as it will keep the net carbs down.

@sudiesudnor It says net carbs
by (11.6k points)
@posada68362 it does, so maybe message the app developers and ask why it’s not showing correctly!?

Why are you looking at the packets this way? IP has set this program up so you don’t have to track your carbs. Eat the sheet and eat 3 packets a day. Are you trying to eat cheaper alternative food and compare to IP?
by (2.3k points)
@plea42 no I’m not trying to eat cheaper. I just wanted to compare to how I was doing on keto.
by (11.2k points)
@posada68362 you should ask your coach.
by (2.3k points)
@plea42 I did
by (11.2k points)
@posada68362 and. what did your coach say?
by (5.6k points)
@plea42 I’m sorry I wanted to reply to you and I replied to everyone.  she did reach out to me and I was able to explain it to her. I actually Love Carb manager and use it muse, I think it is an amazing app for phase 2. I recommend all of my dieters to use it as I believe it works better than the IP app. On phase 1 I just recommend to eat the sheet and loose the weight as IP is a predictable and measured protocols.

Carb manager is great for phase 2 when you really want to keep track of you carbs. I don’t recommend it on phase 1 as IP is designed to predictable and measurable. The only way IP is not successful is if you don’t eat the sheet.
by (2.3k points)
I’ve done this before and lost 100 lbs. I always go by the sheet. never cheat. but I decided to check the carb app just to see. I love this diet, I just had a question.

This was confusing to me as well. Even on the IP app it looks like I am having high net carbs. I am losing though so not paying attention to carb count now. I will next phase.

You should be under 50 net carbs a day for phase one
