Hi everyone.  need some help.Hi everyone. need some help. I have been on IP for 4 weeks now. I lost 9lbs, 4lbs, 1lb and 1lb consecutively. I’m frustrated and ready to give up. I always “eat the sheet” and have NEVER deviated. It’s so disheartening to put so much effort into this only to lose so little weight. What am I doing wrong or is this normal?

That’s 15lbs in 4 weeks, that’s great! The low losing weeks are super frustrating, I know. Just keep looking at the bigger picture. I lost 1lb twice in a row then next week was 4lbs.

There are a lot of factors at play here, like how much you need to lose to start. It does happen where you have two slow weeks and then a bigger drop. I am a slow loser but I know that if I continue to eat the sheet, I will continue to lose the weight. Did you lose more inches? Sometimes that is where the loss happens. You're still losing, just keep going in that direction.

@marrero I have 40lbs to lose. I have lost inches in those low weeks (not much)

@choline7515 it took me six months to lose forty pounds and I am still losing slowly. But I am still losing. My worry is more about keeping it off.

You should not be discouraged. The program average for women is 2-3 lbs per week. That doesn't mean you will lose that much each week but if you divide your total lbs lost by the number of weeks on the program you will likely be there throughout the weight loss phase. Right now your avg is much higher than that! Allow your body to catch up. Your first week was a lot. You are doing great!

How many inches have u lost?
by (1.1k points)
@sewell 4 off my chest of course lol. 2. 5 off my waist and 1 off my hips. Nothing off my arms.

Arms seem to take a while to kick in. I got so frustrated because mine didn’t change for the first 3 months. Then - boom - they finally started shrinking!

@choline7515 you’re doing great! I too am 4 weeks in. I’ve lost 14 pounds and 12”. Very similar to you. You didn’t give your inches you’ve lost in your thighs. that might be where our difference is. This is my 2nd time on IP. I want to loose 25 now. but in round 1 . I lost 55 pounds and 30-something inches in 24 weeks. This program works! Don’t get frustrated. You have to think about what time of the month it is (my weight loss isn’t a “big number”) a week before my menstrual cycle. but that’s when you have to look at the inches you lost. Sometimes your body can’t loose from both (weight and inches). ‍♀️ If you’re not loosing pounds OR inches. then that’s when you start worrying.

Talk to your counselor. They had to increase my protein to 10oz. For me to lose.

This is not a miracle program

@charactery688 This is a support group hence the reason I asked the above question. Wasn’t looking for a miracle diet

@charactery688 Well that just wasn’t a very nice thing to say

First of all, you are doing great because you are losing! The amount of pounds lost fluctuates and from what I understand that is totally normal. I am in a similar situation and my coach told me today after she put me on the BMI scale that I lost fat and gained 4 pounds of lean muscle mass! She explained that that is a really good thing. That's why I would pay more attention to the inches lost than the weekly weight. Don't be discouraged, just wait and I bet on one of your next weigh-in's you will see another bigger jump!

Oh I’ve done the EXACT same as you. Tonight I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 35 mins. I’m hoping it helps.

15 lbs in 4 weeks is not little. That is a big deal! I average 10 pounds a month. You are losing consistently so you are doing great! If you give up now you will definitely not get to goal! Keep going!

I think probably normal because you are still losing. Sometimes our body doesn’t let go as easily if the fat. I agree to talk with your counselor they are trained for this stuff maybe you need more sodium or water or protien or unrestricted veggies to get you over this plateau. Remember it went on over time and it will come off over time. Keep going! Stay on the sheet and I know you will see a big drop soon.

Not worth it. Any diet that cuts calories that much you will lose.

Usual weight loss in a month is between 8-10 lbs. First week is the most because you loose your sugar tunk. Sometimes your body wants to hold on their fat storage then you lose less. Don't worry keep going you did a great job for the first month. As long as you are losing it is fine.

Hang in there. It will work. Not everyone loses at the same rate.

I've found a lot of things affect my weight loss that aren't food related: not enough sleep, certain medications, fighting an illness/cold/flu. I also like to try a new recipe, but I time it after weighing in, just in case it doesn't have the desired effect. Sometimes mixing it up or eating certain foods earlier in the day can help, like restricted Brownies. Sometimes eating an extra IP packet earlier in the week when I'm really hungry. It try a different IP product. Hope this helps!
