I have lost around 35 pounds and have dropped several sizes. My friends and family all day how great I look but I don’t see it in the mirror. And by that I mean, I know I look thinner but I still see the fat. Anyone else have this issue?

‍♀️ I’ve lost 91 in less than 6 months. I still see the same person even though I know I smaller. The stats say that I takes the brain 5 years to see the new you. ‍♀️

@stork97 WTG! What were some of your favorite packets to eat?

@stork97 5 years?!?!?

@bluh348 at first I was all over the place. I loved the apple oatmeal and chili, I would add veggies in. I don’t mind the chicken a la king. Currently I’m not doing any restricted, doing a drink for breakfast and lunch, having dinner, and then a snack packet. And I’m not gonna lie, the drinks aren’t as filling so sometimes I add in a boiled egg.

@yamashita87 I know right! That’s what my coach told me the other day. 5 years!

@stork97 So 2 shakes a day and then a non restricted for your 3rd?

@bluh348  thats right.

@yamashita87 don’t get discouraged, trust and accept the positive feedback you get from those around you. And for me I can feel it, like my body doesn’t hurt all the time. That to me is worth way more than the mirror and my brain

I haven't heard that stat that it takes 5 years to see the new you but I don't doubt that there is some validity to it. The biggest thing I would say you can do for yourself is listen to those positive mirrors who see you everyday, and if you accept and take in those positive comments it will help you to start seeing yourself more clearly because you're replacing the negatives inside your head with the positives from your loved ones

For sure do a side by side! I didn't realize how much I've lost or my husband until I did side by sides and wow it will make you realize how much work you've done!

Yes my thoughts are I’ve lost 13 lbs and to me I’m still fat. if I still has bumps and bulges I’m going to keep going. Until I can wear what I want without looking fat

It’s called body dysmorphia- not uncommon to see yourself differently than others do. We are our biggest critics. Embrace the new you!

I’ve lost 35 as well and haven’t even really dropped sizes. My clothes are large and lose on me but when I shop I still can’t go down a size.

@aquiver I’m guessing you have good hips and good booty! That’s me too. I’ve lost 50 and still wearing the same pants just much more comfortable!

I used to wear a 2xl lab coat and I asked a male coworker to get me another coat. He brought a medium. I thought no way in he'll can I fit in this and he was like yeah I think this is your size. he was right

@westing408 my husband bought me size large thermals and I was shocked that they were not snug at all! I don’t feel like I’ve lost 50 pounds. It’s the weirdest thing ever!

I had the same issue too. You know we have an image of ourselves in our brain it takes time to change. Specially with your old an now baggy clothes you won’t see your new one. Wait until you buy new clothes you will see the difference. Keep going

I have been maintaining for a little over a year now. Dropped 70lbs and still don’t see me the way other people do. I hold up my jeans and think to myself “wow, these will never fit me” looks like something a little kid would wear. It’s hard to wrap my head around it.

I totally relate to this. My coach said to put a picture of you before on your bathroom mirror to help.

Yes. It's the mental image you see doesn't match the vision you would like to see. Trust the numbers. weight and circumference until you feel as wonderful as you look. It will come be patient.

Last year I lost the 40 lbs I wanted to lose, bringing me down to 120, and in pictures, I could see the difference, but in the mirror, I still see the old me. Not sure how to refocus my brain.
