Sounds a bit ridiculous, but I go to bed early.
by (990 points)
@markup I might need to do that. Nighttime is the worst for me. But I also had recent gal bladder removal so if I get hungry during the night my stomach can hurt so I have to eat something before I go to bed. I would be worried going to bed too soon would throw that off. right now I eat my last packet before I head to bed.

@markup same here.

When my cravings get strong I try to quench it with a water enhancer :)

Right now I am sipping on a lemon water enhancer. only I make mine hot! I love hot lemonade and it gives me that little extra sweetness to quench any cravings. I also do not pour the entire packet in. I can very easily get 3 pretty large mugs full of hot lemonade out of 1 packet.

Lemon water takes you OUT of Ketosis

@hough9 - I am confused, I make hot lemonade with the ideal protein lemon water enhancer. How will the approved water enhancer take me out of ketosis?

@roundup That's a great idea! Maybe she misread, you're good, you won't get out of ketosis :)

Sometimes for me pickles do it, for a savory craving. After dinner, I brush my teeth, less likely to eat. Also, I bought some flavored skinny syrups, and in the evening I’ll make a decaf coffee with syrup flavoring to combat a sweet craving. it’s hard, hang in there!

After you have eaten for the night, brush your teeth & use mouthwash. For me at least it seems to trick my brain.

Cucumbers, dill pickles, radish, a boiled egg if you haven’t had all your protein and lots of water, sparkling water is good for evenings. Put it in a fancy glass and enjoy it regardless of what’s you’re drinking.

It takes about 3 days to get into ketosis. After that the cravings should subside!

I use to do my snack mid to late afternoon. Now I do it after dinner around 8 pm or so to help. Some say don't eat that late but the snack is small. 77 pounds down.
by (11.7k points)
@korn80 I usually have my last snack between 10 and midnight. I’ve lost 52 pounds in five months. I don’t think it makes a difference as long as you get that last protein in.

@korn80 Way to go on your weight loss proud of you girl!

Hot tea, lemon or mint water, air fried mushrooms (big slices) coated with salt and spices, radishes, spinach and mushroom sautéed, and broth. If you’re low on cal/protein for the day, you can have an extra jello packet according to my coach. I also drink lots and lots of plain water - especially before a meal, and I go to bed really early

If you have a sweet tooth, stock up on IP Vanilla Wafers and have Crystal Light drink ready in the fridge (I really like the lemonade mixed with grapefruit Selzer and the Mango Green Tea). Better to reach for an extra IP protein than cheat. And if salt tooth, the IP chips, celery with seasonings, keep a bag of cut-up veggies in the fridge, IP dorados, etc. Yes, be sure to keep hydrated. It'll keep cravings at bay. And occupy yourself with other projects such as a puzzle on the dining room table while drinking seltzer or a great book to read while sipping tea. Boredom is a total diet killer!
