Alright I went to a restaurant on day 4 foR dinner! I ordered grilled shrimp, steamed broccoli and plain romaine and brought my own homemade dressing. It was really good BUT $27 for something I can make at home. you live and learn. Any other suggestions for eating at a restaurant and being satisfied?

I never found eating out was satisfying. We just stopped eating out and I learned to make much better food at home.

Go to a steakhouse if u like steak. I love outback. We went to Friday's recently and after I got my meal and the check I was like we could have went to outback for just a bit more $. That time was totally not worth it.

We do eat out a lot and one of my favorites is a Romain salad and sometimes (if I’m extra hungry) a side of steamed broccoli. Usually bring an IP bar, drink, chips, etc. and eat later in the car. So my end of the meal is only about $12. Of course, my husband adds his steak & baked potato so it’s much more expensive. Lol. Have done this for a long time as I pretty much eat this way on or off protocol. Sometimes I’ll add grilled. Hi Ken or steak to salad, if I don’t have a bar with me or it’s my main meal.

Bob Evan's, grilled chicken with Bob Evan's yummy honey mustard, steamed brocolli dipped in honey mustard, green beans with bacon & Bob Evan's coffee with half & half. So yummy & satisfying!  And yes I still lost 3 lbs that week! (Wouldn't do it every day, but a delicious eat out without derailing weight loss!

Eating a keto friendly meal one time or occasionally wouldn't hurt weight loss either. The key word is occasionally!

Don’t eat out. You’ll save money and once you’re off the diet you won’t miss not eating out at all. Home cooking is where it’s at.

When eating out I choose something special that I don’t cook at home. Salmon or steak. Then add Grilled veggies and a salad with oil and vinegar. Makes a nice date and I didn’t cook at all. Even got served.

Pricier for sure. Choose wisely next time? Paying for ambiance?

Most places have steak & grilled chicken. You can usually substitue your sides for salad or veggies that are on protocol. I have never really had an issue.

Garden salad with grilled chicken or chicken or shrimp fajitas (just the meat and veggies).

That's the one thing that chaps me. anywhere u go, they charge you to add something simple but dont take away when you say no to sides. They always look at me funny when I say no beans or rice, no toast or potatoes I think they think I'm messing with them. the looks are hilarious.

I really enjoy having a taco salad (with chicken or ground beef) and salsa instead of salad dressing. I also enjoy tortilla soup without tortillas or cheese.
