I have a couple of times but dust yourself off and get back at it. It’s a new day. As humans we all mess up but it’s about NEW BEGINNINGS!

Never ! Either you are in it or you are not ☹️ you will be wasting your money if you do decide to cheat . It’s pretty strict diet !

Every time I think I could have a slip up, I tell myself that if I leave keto sis, it will take me a few days to get my body back to keto sis. We are all human, so it can happen.

Yes. The reminder that each “bite” may cost me at least $36 for 3 days to get back into ketosis is motivating to me!

Honestly, my wife and I have 1 cheat meal a month. It's normally dinner. I know you're technically not supposed to, but we started on February 20th and I'm down 57 pounds, and my wife is down 35 pounds.

This program needs you to be 100% committed. It’s not good for your health or pocket book if you flip flop. It does work. It’s all in the mindset . Good luck

No kidding! I have been on this journey for over a two month period and decided to stop until my husband got more stable due to health problems. The stress of taking care of him and being so careful for him not to get coved is taking a toll on me so bad. Lost 55 lbs went into maintenance but gained 15 back and I can’t get rid of it. The more I stress the more that it doesn’t go anywhere.

I have but accidentally with Stevia in the raw etc and on my freebies . but have to be  percent or it will not work and be slower and you will be disappointed with your success . I am down almost 54 lbs since Jan 1 and feel better than I have felt in years . stay strong !
by (640 points)
@mccowyn6 stevia in the raw is not ok? I just bought that last night. all the other sweeteners have erythritol in them and it doesn’t agree with me at all! ☹️
by (1.3k points)
@crosier35562 no . and I bought a big bag to cook with . my coach said no to it and I could have Splenda, truvia, liquid stevia or Pure . I have learned always check with Coach if you are in doubt .

I have a few times but I found it’s easier to slip then to build things to gigantic proportions in my mind. I usually find when I slipped up that it wasn’t what I thought it would be so it’s easier to go back to protocol

It is hard to follow. Very restrictive. My suggestion is to find recipes that you actually like and start making those.

@taster yes or keep it basic, meat and greens, plus 3 packages a day

I slip up on a weekly basis. The past few days I’ve been doing positive affirmations and those have helped so much.

I might get a lot of flack for my comment but oh well I'm happy with what I'm doing. I was strict with IP 3 years ago and lost almost 40lbs in 4 months. I know this program works. I recently started again as I've gained back 30lbs. This time I have tweaked a few things to help keep me going. And I realize this will slow me down but I use full fat dressings and I have increased my milk because I enjoy it In my tea. It will be 3 weeks on Wednesday and I'm down 10lbs. I am having 1 cheat day a month. If I notice I'm not happy with results I'm getting down the road I may get more strict.

I’m 47 and am losing weight slowly! (But losing! ) I’m also in peri-menopause, so that may be slowing me down I find that even if I don’t cheat but not drink enough water or eat all my veggies my loss slows or stalls. it sucks as I would expect a stall if I was cheating but not a stall NOT eating/drinking per protocol
by (1.3k points)
@pageantry I am 55 and am getting very close to goal . I am not having big loses each week but still losing . This is a great diet for pre, during or post menopause. I haven’t had hot flashes, feel great with lots of energy . Stick to the plan and you will be so happy with the results !

Give yourself some credit. It is meant to be a lifestyle change. In real life we have to make changes to stay on track and if that means you aren't as strict in order to make it work then so be it. If you are losing and feel better. Then you are successful.

My no carb dinner. Chicken, peppers, fajita seasoning over bed of lettuce. Once you get in a routine, it gets easier. I end up eating the same stuff a lot bc I’m lazy and don’t do recipes. But your loss will motivate you. It does me!
by (1.8k points)
@fellers looks delicious. Going to try it.
by (3.9k points)
Quick and easy. I usually do lettuce wraps with it but I had already torn my lettuce for salads.
by (1.8k points)
You can also put this over riced cauliflower

I've had little slip ups. Like, if I didn't have a snack on me, I would find a low carb snack. For me personally, I need to do this. I'm a perfectionist and freak out when I don't do something exactly, then I spiral then quit relapse into disordered eating. This is me being kind to myself, which I am not. When I'm kind to myself, I easily get back on track. I know this is a unpopular opinion, but this is just me. I know at the end of the day weight loss is about calories in, calories out. IP just makes it easier. I try not to slip up too much because I will get super depressed (its a hormonal thing). If you're gonna slip up, don't slip up too much. Go to the meetings and see how what you ate affected your goals.

3. 5 months in and I wanted to give up today. I’m down 48 lbs and I’ve stalled. I just kept reminding myself how hard the first 4 days were to get into Ketosis so I refuse to give up. You’ve got this!
by (960 points)
@beers9790 I am 3. 5 mos in as well & have plateaued for 2 weeks now. My coach said cut out the bars & or “restricted” things, beef, eat more veggies. I started doing it today. We’ll see what happens.
by (10k points)
Linda, spoke with my coach today too. She told me pretty much the same. I think I need to get moving more. Since working from home, I get sucked into my office chair.

What do you consider to be a “slip”. Some people are very exact. They weigh and measure and stick exactly to the protocol they are on. I am losing slowly, but I have a different approach. I started Dec 26. Am down 30 lbs. I actually took five days off then got right back on. But if I need something extra to keep me on track I will eat it BUT it’s almost always a protein or an extra packet. Not candy or pizza or even processed food. I have to make this sustainable for me
by (1.6k points)
@face drinking a lemonade or a coffee from Starbucks is my weakness
by (2.6k points)
I'm in the same boat. My slips have been an extra packet. Also, one time I had a chik-fil-a sandwich. I felt sick afterwards. Anyhow, despite my slips I have lost 15 lbs since March 25th. I feel like I have done well and don't want to beat myself up for being human, especially during a time as stressful as this pandemic.
by (1.6k points)
@baudin299 thanks. This is good to hear. We have a medically complex child that is up every 1-2 hours all night. We spent from Oct-end of April in and out of the hospital and now that he has a successful heart surgery I wanted to try to lose the 50lbs I’ve gained since he was born in July. I know I have things against me. Mental health. Lack of sleep. & lots of stress.
by (8.3k points)
@aguish if you are losing even if it’s slow and you can make this sustainable then don’t beat yourself up. I have done a lot of good plans and programs. This one works for me but I have to be able to live with it! Just keep trying. And do your best.
by (1.6k points)
I was down 5. 1lb today and today was the end of my 1st week.
by (2.6k points)
@aguish That sounds really rough and stressful. I'm glad the surgery went well!

In my opinion, it is too expensive to slip up, I have been on program for 2 months with no cheats. I do eat more packets than I should on some days or eat several hard boiled eggs. I just want it over with ASAP and do not want to drag it out! LOL

I did IP 4 years ago and went off twice for two vacations and got right back on. I didn’t stick with it in maintenance and started back last Thursday to take off the 40lbs I have put back on. When I did it before and plan to now, not to go off because of the extra time and the lousy way I feel going into and out of ketosis.

All the time. We've been in isolation for 2 months and I've pretty much given up at this point. I don't have the energy for the fight anymore.

WHAT specifically are you finding hard? Addressing that by asking for help with solutions is more productive than asking how often others slip up.

Well truth be told I’m in the pandemic slip up month. It seems that once we were on stay home orders. I just started letting my self have stuff. Bacon on salad;guacamole on salad. Oh and my biggy Diet Dr. Pepper. So yes enough that I haven’t been in ketosis however I am still north of 320 pounds so I’m loosing weight .

Peace and be gentle on yourself, yes slip ups happen just make sure you learn and don't repeat. It is a journey to a healthier you and it's not easy. If you want easy then stay eating the foods and the way you have. For me as I nearly arrive at my one year anniversary on IP look back at my over 515 pound self and cry with joy at finding IP the only program that has worked for me. I had tried many programs since the age of 10 and nothing stuck. I yoyo'd with the best and worst programs till IP. Now don't get me wrong in this past year I have had moments that I call experiment's, because once I saw what they did to my body I never repeated them and that's the key for me. There were times when I did not loose large amounts of weight but what did I did loose was overall accumulated inches off the body. Sometimes the scale said one thing but your clothing size showed the success. It is also why I say be gentle on yourself. 'Eat the Sheet' mantra is important as this IP program is a journey to change the past mistakes and learn how to properly eat healthier. Oh and where am I weight wise after nearly a year. 319 lbs, a loss of over 195 lbs and only 4 pounds away from what I set as my first Big Goal. Along with the weight loss is the drop in body size I started out at over 8XL which meant my health was at risk and proudly today I can say over 123 accumulated inches is off my 54 year old frame and while Iam now at 4XL I know I can reach my new goal. So to end this missive I begin a new journey as I am about to start the next phase with a goal of 100 more pounds off my body, I will do it having and continuing with IP and my now eating habits to a healthy me on this weight loss journey. Onward we travel one step at a time, one healthy change at a time and remember be gentle on yourself. You are not alone, Peace!
