Hi everyone.  need some help.Hi everyone. need some help. I have been on IP for 4 weeks now. I lost 9lbs, 4lbs, 1lb and 1lb consecutively. I’m frustrated and ready to give up. I always “eat the sheet” and have NEVER deviated. It’s so disheartening to put so much effort into this only to lose so little weight. What am I doing wrong or is this normal?

Focus on the bigger picture. That’s still 15lbs lost over the past month. An average of almost 4lbs a week. That’s great! Make sure you’re following the sheet, vitamins, and measure everything. You’re still losing. I averaged a 2lbs loss each of my first 3 weeks, then 8lbs, and 4 lbs. the 2lbs losses I found frustrating too but I’m focusing on the end goal.  focus on the positive and keep going.
by (1.1k points)
@shama Catherine That’s true. I forget my vitamins sometimes. would that make a difference?
by (5.7k points)
Yes, electrolytes are super important and make sure you’re drinking your 64oz of water  I started intermittent fasting and it’s really helped me. I credit it with my 4lb weight loss this week. I’m a really slow loser. I eat between 11am-7pm. But always start with a coffee when I wake up
by (1.1k points)
@shama Catherine You had me at coffee! I’ve been thinking of IF but wondered about my coffee. I definitely could do that!
by (5.7k points)
I sip my coffee all morning lol I use vanilla protein shake as creamer. So if you did that, you can use it as your snack or an extra I think? (clarify with your coach). I just use it as creamer but if I’m having a busy morning, I still use it as creamer but will drink the rest as my breakfast.
by (1.1k points)
@shama Catherine What would be your typical meals during that period? Do you have a shake?
by (5.7k points)
7am-11am: coffee 11am: maple oatmeal & vitamins 1pm: lunch(I like to change it up with different packets like the chili, soup, or a package of chips) 2 cups of salad or broccoli(depends which packet I pair it with) & vitamins 3-4pm: snack, either unlimited veggies or a couple pickles. Or an IP snack item & cal/mag. 5-6pm: 8oz protein, usually chicken, ground chicken, or pork chop. The odd time beef or eggs. 2 cups of either salad or zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms, broccoli. Depends what I feel like. & vitamins. If I’m hungry at 7pm, I’ll have some cucumber or celery ❤️ I have a 24oz water bottle and drink at least 3 per day which is 72oz
by (10.3k points)
@shama Catherine I was thinking have 2 cup veggies and add additional lettuce each time. Drink 16 oz h20 with each meal plus and additional in am and pm. Have hot tea at night. Your body adjusting to being satisfied no long time fullness when you were eating carbs

Also-my weight loss has been like that. I lose inches some week and on the scale Others. For me-lemon water and no seltzer, spinach, and mixing my products helps me move numbers. You have to stick with it and find your balance of product and food-everyone is a little dofferent

When’s the last time you lost 15 lbs in 4 weeks?! Keep going!
by (1.1k points)
@hooks2766 I know. just frustrating when you have 2 weeks of just a lb. the weeks are long when you’re being so good! Lol
by (1.2k points)
@choline7515 track inches too! You’d be surprised!

I don’t know how much you have to lose but the less you have, the lower the numbers. Don’t pay attention to others loss.

@hydrastine1 40 lbs

This is very normal. in 4 weeks you have lost 15 lbs which is awesome! IP expects 10 /month so you are doing great. Expect a big loss in the coming weeks. One really has to take a long view approach. I lost 70 lbs but it took about 9 months. Hang in there you are doing great!
by (1.1k points)
@pewee Thank you for the encouragement!

I know different coaches allow different things so make sure you stick to the sheet. For instance, some say Mio flavoring is ok but when I use it, I don’t lose anything.
by (1.1k points)
@hydrastine1 I’ve never tried that but I do use a lot of IP flavouring to get my water into me
by (1.2k points)
@choline7515 try removing that. They were never unlimited before until the diet was changed this year. Worth a shot.

by (1.1k points)
@latrinalatrine You can do it again! The first week is the hardest but after that it’s pretty smooth.

15# in 4 weeks is great! The initial large loss is water weight, now you’re starting to burn fat. I’ve lost 100 over the last few years and have found that some weeks I lose a more pounds and little in inches, then I’ll lose more pounds but then not much in inches. Over time it all evens out. Just keep your eye on the prize!

How's your salt intake? I drink ½ if a teaspoon in warm water 1st thing every morning!
by (1.1k points)
@sterner Janz-Dippel I’m getting my salt but perhaps not as much as I think. I’ve been asked that question a lot on this thread so I’ll be more watchful
by (4.1k points)
@choline7515 great to know. I find it easiest to take it with a huge mug full of warm water. otherwise nope it wasn't happening! I've been doing this for 13-14 weeks and shed 68. 4#. change your mindset from losing to shedding. Why? Because when you lose something it always comes back. when a dog sheds it's winter coat does that come back. no ma'am! Gone furever!
by (1.1k points)
@sterner Janz-Dippel wonderful way of thinking!
by (4.1k points)
@choline7515 it is! Whenever someone asks me how much I've lost I always say this week I've shed 5. 9#. which is what I shed this week. I was 308 when I started know am 239. 9!
by (1.1k points)
@sterner Janz-Dippel That’s awesome!

To repeat everyone else: you LOST 15lbs (that’s 60lbs or pressure off you knees, hips, ankles! ) and gained! Would you have lost this amount of weight on your own? I had 120-130lbs to lose and lost 19lbs my first month. The less you have to lose the smaller loses you could have. The average is 2lbs a week. Looks like you are doing great! Our expectations can get in the way or sabotage us. Follow the sheet EXACTLY and your weight will come off - it might take 3-4 months - or longer - but it WILL come off. That time is going to pass regardless if you are in IP or not - so, you’re either actively participating in getting the weight off or you’re not. Your choice. I’ve lost 120lbs so I know it works!

You are losing weight, that is the goal. So why quit? You seem to be doing great. If you have a lot of weight to lose, you will lose more each week but if you are not that much over weight. it does not come off as fast. Just keep following the program. You will be happy you did by summer.

15 lbs in 4 weeks averages out to 3. 75 lbs a week. I'm not sure I understand your issue? I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but that's actually above average. Maybe your expectations need to be adjusted some? You're doing great, don't be so hard on yourself. You should definitely be proud
by (10k points)
@choline7515, this ^^. You’re above average on your average weekly loss, and this is how weight loss occurs. Tou will have small losses, larger losses, no losses and (gasp) small gains as time goes by. If you are staying on protocol, there is no need to worry, the weight will come off. Maybe try to concentrate on inches lost, how clothes fit, body fat percentage, etc. instead of being a slave to your scale. IP works!
by (1.1k points)
@delisle38 I was concerned about the last two weeks as I only lost a pound each week. Concerned because I’ve don’t everything to protocol, yet didn’t lose as much. Thinking I was doing something wrong. that’s all

That over 108 lbs a year. Hang in there. Your body is going through major changes and adjustments to those changes. Stay focused. Weigh once a week in the weight loss phase. Daily weighing comes in maintenance. You've got this and you're doing a great job!

It is totally normal. look at an overall not a daily basis - 15 lbs in 4 weeks in a great average. speak to your coach. do you write everything you eat and drink ?. you see we have found out that . the tomatoes kick me out of ketosis. and that chewing gum. slows my weight loss (and even provides weight gain). . do you drink enough water, do you take all your vitamins. and salt ?. maybe it is water retention (IP Electrolytes do miracles). speak to your coach. you are doing great ! just keep on doing what you are doing

I have been on the program for 13 weeks and have lost 38 lbs. I complain and lament every week when I see that 2-3lb weight loss. But I can tell you when I reached in the closet and did a little fashion show for my husband on Sunday with a lot of the clothes that I haven't been able to wear for a while, that its all worth it. Slow and steady wins the race. I have another 60lbs to go and cannot wait for August or September when I've reached my goal. Only 7 months to go :)

@meliorism2478 Morgan 2 to 3 lbs. per week is the average for women’s weight loss.

Salad is not the same as vegetables. One is unlimited – salad, the other we need 4 cups per day – vegetables. This is due to the need for potassium, vegetables are priority and IP salt has 330 mg/ 1/4 teaspoon. It’s important to eat every five hours, this is what “the sheet” provides (1pkt breakfast, lunch & before bed, dinner cooked meal). Breakfast should be 1/2 after waking up, The before bed snack can’t be omitted. For additional hunger, unlimited vegetables are the key.

How are the inches coming? I found that even with same weight, I was losing inches for improvement. Then, the pounds would come. Nothing is perfect but sometimes it is other factors come into play. So just stay the course and you will be glad you did. There is nothing like hitting ideal weight. My experience was losing inches even after that and really the inches are just as important and my real motivator!

You need to check other things. Measurements, fat percent and lean muscle. When I have a one pounder I just have to hang in there and keep eating the sheet. It will show up as a loss if you are following the agenda. Are you consistent about your weigh in clothes and time of day ? How much sodium have you had. There are lots of reasons that it can slow at times. Don’t under eat either. Hang in there and believe in yourself and that you can do this. I am 96 pounds down since May 1, 2019. I am probably going into step down this next weigh in. If you had asked me last year going into this if I could be successful. I wouldn’t have said sure confidently. The program does work. Talk to your coach and see if they can recommend something. Are you journaling? It helps to and drink the water or combo of at least 64 oz. Best of luck going forward! You can do this and you are worth the effort it takes.

Little weight? 15 lbs in 1 month? That is FANTASTIC! I don't know why so many people are suggesting trying a bunch of changes. 10 lbs a month is average - you are 5 over that - and you will probably have a big loss next week or the one after. I averaged 1. 5 a month sometimes I lost. 1 in a week - but I lost - then maybe the next week 1 lb and then wham 3 or 4. Just keep doing what you are doing!

I am on this program for the second time. I consistently lose 1 to 2 lbs a week. Everyone is different. I just look at it like thank goodness it’s a loss instead of a gain. Stick with it, it works!
